DAY 6
Today was the first day of rain we have had. We pretty much stayed inside for the morning. In the afternoon we had the wonderful opportunity to meet with a Chinese couple and their 4 year old daughter who are from Meizhou but live here in GZ now. They have been to Bree's orphanage many times and were last there three months ago. They clearly remembered Bree and Bree clearly remembered the mother. She went easily to her and let her hold her. We learned much about the orphanage and about how well they took care of Bree and the other children. They taught us many phrases in Bree's dialect and it is amazing how she responds to us now that we can ask her certain things in her language! After this we "snuck" into the White Swan hotel playroom for a bit then out to dinner at Lucy's (western fare). But since Doug saw a dog, quite larger than any others that we have seen, prior to going into the restaurant, he decided his hamburger didn't sit as well with him tonight-he he!
Word has gotten out that I am a pediatrician and people have been asking for "consults" which I am honored to do. Tonight while I was making a "house call", Bree stayed with Daddy for quite a while. When I returned, she actually allowed him to bathe her! Major strides are occurring - Doug keeps telling her that she loves him, she just doesn't know it yet :) Blessings to all.

Hey Guys,
Haven't had a computer to blog on, so I'm here at a friends house catching up on your news. I just wanted to let you know that I indeed tried chicken's feet, but not fried. Also its amazing how people gravitate to you if they find out what we do for a living. Anya was the same way when we were in china, wanted me, not mark, but warmed up right away. It's amazing how a forever family can awaken those feeling in a child. Well it is great to see how well it is all going for you guys. It will be exciting to meet her for the first time. Keep having fun, love Wendy
Oh Tracy. What wonderful news to hear how Bree is just showing her darling little personality...and knows her name. So precious.
I know the families there appreciate your "house call". Very giving of you at such an intense time of life. The Lord will repay.
I would LOVE to meet this family who have been to the Meizhou SWI and worked w/the kids. (Also need to learn some phrases!! Ha.) Can I get their phone number or contact info to chat w/them? Would LOVE to hook up when I get there.
As IF I should be packing...Oh NO! I'm cutting the yard.
Cannot wait to continue to hear all of your news. I'll have to check Rina's blog and see what smart allecky thing she has to say since arriving home. Hee. Hee.
Hugs to all, Vicki
Hi Tracy,
You found the other end of that red thread and she is just breathtaking. It sure looks and sounds as if she is blossoming right in front of your eyes. What a beautiful family you have!
Speaking of family, when we were in China getting Jadyn, we missed Landon's 7th Birthday too! He's still trying to get an "extra present" from us each year because of the one we missed!
God Bless you for making your "house calls" with fellow travelers. That would have eased my mind so having a pediatrician look over our new addition.
Enjoy your time in her homeland!

Hi Tracy and Doug,
Patrick and I just returned from an outing with our friends. Denise thought that their daughter Grace also lived in the Meizhou orphanage. She was going to check to see if it is the same place that Bree lived. It's a small world! They also spent their entire time in GZ, as Grace traveled to them. It sounds as though you two may have alot to talk about???
I also can not wait to hear about the details pertaining to the couple that you met from Meizhou. Isn't it amazing what happens when you let go and let God lead the way? We had one miracle after the next happen during our trip. As I have previously mentioned, I will never forget waking up in the morning and asking God to lead the way. All of the encounters with others that you have had are like finding more pieces to the gigantic puzzle. They are not coincidences. It sounds as though you are making the most of your time. That is good. We continue to think about you and wonder what you are experiencing. Have fun!!!
Love and prayers,
Donna, Patrick and Lily
Don't you just love Tedsy and Coco? I miss them so much....they are such loving and wonderful people and they care so much for the children of Meizhou. I am so happy you posted those photos so I could see them again!!! Looks like you guys are doing great!
hugs
Angela
