"For I know the plans I have for you..plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11.
It has been a year since Doug and I began this quest to add a daughter to our family. We have been so blessed with two healthy, beautiful biological daughters. Adding a child to our family was a convicton we both felt. The decision to adopt internationally came easily to us. Because of my experience at work with Chinese adoptees and our friend's personal experience, China was no doubt our first choice. After much prayer we decided on a special needs toddler.
We began the "paper chase" last April 2007. Talk about complicated and demanding! We finally submitted our dossier in December 2007 and were "logged in" to the Chinese government Jan 8, 2008. Then we sat for four months and prayed for the Lord to choose who our daughter would be. On April 17 He answered our prayers with the referral of Qiu Qi Mei, a two year old adorable little girl. Her special needs were bilateral club feet and flexion contractures of three of her fingers. She was absolutely adorable. We accepted the following day and now we have submitted our letter of intent to adopt her and await the Chinese governments approval. We have named her Bree Mei and we pray for her health and well being every minute of the day until we can bring her home to us.
